Welcome to Lydian Development's homepage.
The goal of this site is to help spread the "secrets" of the programming world to all those who seek the knowledge.
The world of the programmer can be a very mysterious one at times. It can be frustrating, confusing, overwhelming, and yet.. when the code you have so carefully crafted works, when it binds the computer to your will.. then the programmer's world becomes a very satisfying place indeed.

We will cover many topics here, from general overviews of issues relating to a beginner's needs, to algorithms and data structures useful to professional programmers, and everything in between. Where applicable, the discussions and examples will be kept as close to "language-neutral" as possible, but ideas in the real world are implemented in code, so often we will have to resort to an actual programming language to express the concepts. As I personally have an affection for C, that will be the language of choice.

Please be aware that this site is currently under construction. It is a work in progress. I will update this site as often as my schedule permits, however, I can't promise regular updates. The best advice is to just check back periodically.

PERSONAL RANT OF THE WEEK: Excuse me while I express my disgust with the majority of websites that are currently wasting space in "cyberspace". Graphics, javascript, applets... these DO NOT make up for lack of content. It is truly a shame when such a promising media as the world wide web is used not to spread knowledge or useful information, but instead used only to rack up "hits" and direct people to commercial sites (read: sites that expect monetary gain from their visitors), all the time trying to cover up their lack of content by drowning you in a sea of graphics and visual effects. This is simply my opinion. I know that in the great scheme of things it doesn't matter very much, but I will stick with my ideas. This website will never be polluted with the same distractions added to other websites. If you have read this, and you feel the same, then try to keep it at the front of your mind when you design your next website. We can't change the world, but then again, we're not talking about the world.. only the world wide web.
